Cayuga County man accused of sex abuse at Virgil business

VIRGIL, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man faces charges in Virgil.

On November 24, Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joel Shattuck of Auburn.

Authorities received a report of abuse allegations on November 15, claiming the 34-year-old subjected a victim who was known to him to inappropriate sexual contact. The alleged incident happened at a business in Virgil.

Shattuck, who is charged with misdemeanors of sex abuse and forcible touching, is scheduled to appear in Virgil Town Court at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
