NICHOLS, NY (CortacaToday) – After a crash earlier this week, a Tioga County man has died.
Authorities say 63-year-old Calvin Pierce, of Barton, succumbed to injuries sustained after his motorcycle collided with a car just after 8 p.m. Monday near Tioga Downs in Nichols. Pierce and his passenger, 45-year-old Carla Pierce, of Ulster, Pennsylvania, were thrown from the bike and taken to Robert Packer Hospital with serious injuries. Carla Pierce remains in critical condition.
The operator of the car, who has not yet been identified, was detained at the scene briefly, and now the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office says charges are pending.
The crash is still under investigation.
