City of Ithaca hiring for unarmed responder program

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Ithaca is hiring for a new public safety initiative.

The city is recruiting applicants to serve as Community Responders for the recently formed ROOTS Program, which stands for Responders Offering Outreach, Trust, and Support. The program seeks to fill one full-time and two part-time positions.

The full-time position has an annual salary of $53,521. The part-time positions, which will be 20 hours a week, have an hourly rate of $25.63. Applications must be submitted here by 4:30 p.m. on August 12, 2026.
