UPDATE: Camp Casowasco has closed, Connected Stitches has moved the retreat to Camp Y at Watson Woods.

DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) — From June 26th to 28th, 2026, a Fiber Arts Retreat will be taking place at Camp Y at Watson Woods.

An adult-only weekend of fiber arts, mindfulness, and creating community, the retreat is suitable for adults of any and all skill levels.

“People could even just be interested in trying fiber arts, there is no experience required. As long as people show up excited to learn and are eager to try fiber arts, there will be something for everyone,” said Connected Stitches Owner Chris Cushman.

Several intro workshops such as how to use a knitting machine, tatting, and yoga are set up to help participants get started. Other workshops for more intermediate and advanced artists are currently in the works.

“We’re looking for suggestions from those who want to attend the retreat and are listening to what people want to have offered. Right now, we’re looking for possible teachers and workshop leaders so if someone is excited to show and teach a fiber arts skill, they can email us at info@connectedstitches.com to get in contact with us.”

Camp Y at Watson Woods has “27 hotel rooms, 14 dorm rooms, and 4 cabins that can accommodate groups of 15-225 people,” according to the camp’s website.

“Connection and community are at the heart of everything we do, so having people paired off will help to bring everyone closer. We want the retreat to be accessible and diverse, so we’ll be launching scholarship applications if people want to go but have other financial obligations that might get in the way.”

Registration for the event opens on March 27th. Those looking for more information on Connected Stitches and the upcoming Fiber Arts Retreat can visit their website here.
