ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — There will be no homecoming concert this year at Cornell.

The student-run Concert Commission has canceled this weekend’s musical performance, headlined by the DJ duo Between Friends, in the wake of the Jane Doe-Chi Phi fraternity sex assault case and a month-long moratorium on the issuance of event permits passed last week by Ithaca Common Council.

“Looking ahead, the Cornell Concert Commission is working to create a charity concert supporting Sexual Violence Prevention and highlighting the talent within our own community, featuring student bands and DJs. All donations will be given to RAINN. We look forward to sharing more information soon,” the group posted on their Facebook page.

The show was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 at Barton Hall.
