ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Cornell men’s hockey team has knocked out a rival.

Over the weekend, the Big Red defeated Harvard in the ECAC quarterfinals. Cornell won the three-game series 2-1.

Cornell Head Coach Casey Jones said the rivalry with Harvard is unique.

“It’s pretty special these guys get to play a series like this,” he said. “Our fans appreciate it.”

All three games at Lynah Rink were sold out. The series marked the final weekend of hockey in Ithaca this season.
