CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County Administrator Michael Ponticello is marking a milestone — 100 days on the job.

“These first 100 days have been about listening, learning, and setting direction,” Ponticiello said. “Cortland County has strong people and a solid foundation. My responsibility has been to understand where we are, earn trust, and begin moving us forward together.”

Following his appointment to the position in Oct. 2025, Ponticello quickly helped county legislators develop the budget for 2026.

“Effective county government depends on partnership,” Ponticiello said. “The Legislature has been an incredible partner from day one — open, supportive, and genuinely committed to doing what’s best for Cortland County. Their collaboration during these first 100 days has been inspiring and sets a strong foundation for how we’ll continue working together on behalf of our residents.”

Ponticello’s hiring came after the retirement of former Cortland County Administrator Rob Corpora.
