Crash in Scott requires hazmat response due to diesel spill

SCOTT, NY (607NewsNow) – No injuries after an accident in Cortland County.

On November 14, the Homer Fire Department was called to the Town of Scott for a pickup truck that struck a guardrail.

Authorities say it happened around 3 p.m. at Route 41 and Ripley Hill. The NYSDEC and Cortland Fire Hazmat Team were called in to assist with a diesel spill in a nearby creek. Homer units were back in service around 6 p.m.

The DEC, DOT, and State Police remained on scene during extended cleanup work.
