CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — The 2026 budget for Cortland County is almost a done deal.

Legislator Beau Harbin tells 607 News Now he’s focused on closing a large budget gap before legislators vote on adopting the plan.

Ponticello began working as county administrator last month. Harbin says despite the challenge of finding ways to fill such a large budget gap, the Cortland County Legislature will pass the 2026 spending plan either later this month or early in December.
