VIRGIL, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland County man faces multiple charges after an alleged altercation.

On November 22, State Police were called to a home on Route 11 in Virgil around 3:30 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute.

Troopers say 34-year-old Mark Young physically made contact with someone during an argument and tried to take the victim’s phone to prevent them from calling for help.

Young is charged with felony criminal contempt and three misdemeanors, including criminal mischief, criminal contempt, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing.
