CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A new year will mean an increase in a Cortland County fee.
At the Nov. 20, 2025 meeting of the Cortland County Legislature, public information officer Savannah Hempstead tells 607 News Now a resolution pass to increase landfill tipping fees by $15 per ton starting March 1, 2026.
“Right now, it’s $90 per ton, so the price goes up to $105 per ton,” Hempstead said.
The landfill tipping fees have been steadily rising since January 2019.
