Cortland Denny’s closed after grease fire

/Cortland Fire Department

CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — Denny’s in Cortland is temporarily closed.

Cortland fire crews responded Monday morning to a grease fire. Firefighters found the grease fire on top and behind one of the main cooking grills. The restaurant is closed until the food preparation area is cleaned and a Cortland County health inspector visits, which the Cortland Fire Department notes is standard practice following a fire.  No one was injured.

A Denny’s employee tells WHCU they’ll know more about their timeline for re-opening later today.
