CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A former school in Cortland is being prepared.

The Parker Elementary School is being used as temporary classroom space for Barry Primary School students in the next academic year. Jordan Lilley runs operations for the Cortland Enlarged City School District. Recently on Ithaca’s Morning News, he outlined the work ahead.

In December, the city of Cortland and school district officials agreed on a 2-year lease to use the Parker building, which closed in 2019. Lilley says the structure is in good shape.

The temporary move will allow renovation work at the Barry Primary School.
