Cortland man facing multiple charges after foot chase

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A homeless man awaits his day in Cortland City Court.

On April 10, the Cortland County Drug Task Force was executing a warrant on Union Street when they observed Shane Granger riding an electric bike on Owego Street.

It was known that Granger, 48, was wanted by the Cortland Police Department, and he fled when officers approached him. Granger fled, and officers say he tried to destroy and conceal narcotics. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

Granger is charged with drug possession, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence, all felonies. He is additionally charged with misdemeanor drug possession and misdemeanor resisting arrest. He’s being held in Cortland County Jail without bail.

Granger will appear in court on April 27.
