Cortland man found with drugs in car during Ithaca traffic stop, sheriff says

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Drugs charges have been filed against a Cortland man.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says during a Gun Involve Violence (GIVE) initiative between the Ithaca Police Department and New York State Police on Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Ithaca, a blue 2021 Mercedes was spotted violating several traffic rules on Fourth St. in Ithaca. Deputies pulled the vehicle over on Madison St.

A drug-sniffing dog was used, and deputies say 28 baggies of suspected crack cocaine and 10 baggies of suspected powder cocaine were found.

34-year-old Breon Brooks is charged with two separate counts of felony drug possession. Brooks will be arraigned this evening.
