CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) will benefit from a local fundraiser.

On August 10, 68 participants hit the links for the Cortland Memorial Foundation’s (CMF) 23rd annual Golf Classic.

Held on a wet afternoon at the Cortland Country Club, the event brought in over $67,000. The money will go toward advanced medical equipment and support of patient care programs at GCMC.

“A bit of heavy rain can’t stop the generosity of the Cortland community in support of this event,” said CMF Director Sheila Ossit. “It’s the Foundation’s largest fundraiser for a reason, and it’s thanks to all our friends and vendors with [whom] we partner that Guthrie Cortland can provide the highest quality care and services to our patients.”

Since launching in 2004, the tournament has raised nearly $1.5 million.
