CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — A Cortlandville man is accused of abusing animals.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found several dogs left outside earlier this month on Weaver R.

Six dogs were sent to the Cortland Community SPCA, and some were malnourished and emaciated. 55-year-old Michael Homza is charged with overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals and four counts each of failure to provide sustenance and inappropriate shelter for dogs left outdoors.

Homza will be arraigned in Town of Cortlandville Court on Feb. 9.
