OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) — There was fast action by firefighters in Owego.
On Aug. 22, authorities responded to V&S New York Galvanizing on Corporate Drive. According to the Campville Fire Department, there was “heavy black smoke” pushing from the roof.
The flames were contained, and no injuries were reported. Authorities said the fire was caused by a malfunction in the zinc coating process, which led to a large release of molten material.
