Crews extinguish scrap yard fire in Onondaga County

DEWITT, NY (607NewsNow) — There are no reports of injuries after a smoky situation in DeWitt.

Around 7 a.m. on Sept. 28, the DeWitt Fire District responded to the Metalico scrap yard on Thompson Road. Crews from the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department and Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department also responded, along with other nearby agencies.

A fire at the scrap yard was extinguished. The blaze brought heavy smoke, which can be seen in the Facebook post below.
