Crews rescue hiker in Montour Falls

MONTOUR FALLS, NY (607NewsNow) – One person is recovering after a rescue in Montour Falls.

On April 23, multiple agencies responded to Deckertown Falls around noon for a report of an injured hiker.

The Watkins Glen Fire Department’s Technical Rescue squad climbed down a 40-foot gorge and used a technical stretcher and rope to recover the victim, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
