ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Planning continues for Tompkins County’s Center of Government building. 

Legislator Deborah Dawson tells 607 News Now an exploration of other options is critical because costs for the project are ballooning.

Dawson adds there’s potential to build the Center of Government, which would serve as new county office space, outside of the city of Ithaca.

The current COG plan calls for the deconstruction of buildings on E. Tioga St. in Ithaca.
