CAYUGA HEIGHTS, NY (607NewsNow) — Crews are pushing back a renovation project at the Cayuga Heights Fire Station.

Authorities were hoping the bunker kitchen would see improvements this month. The goal was to begin renovations during Cornell’s winter break, because many student firefighters go away for the holidays.

Fire Chief George Tamborelle said that’s no longer a possibility, because the contractor is still finishing fall projects. The renovations are now expected to start in late January.

The contractor, Quick Construction, was awarded the project in September.
