Update: Deputies release name of man found dead Friday in Cortlandville

Update 6/1: The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says the man has been identified as Gary A. Kouril, of Cincinnatus. His identity was confirmed through investigation and medical procedure at Lourde’s Hospital in Binghamton. No foul play is suspected. The release of his identity was pending notification of family.

CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help from the public to identify a man found dead.

According to a news release, an ‘unresponsive’ white male was found near the Tioughnioga River in the town of Cortlandville on Friday, May 29 around 10:15 a.m. Investigators say the man was dead, but his identity has not been confirmed.

Foul play is not suspected and there are no threats to the public, deputies said. Anyone with information that can help the investigation are asked to call Sgt.
