WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) – A Pennsylvania woman awaits a court date in Waverly.

Janie Smith, of Sayre, is accused of leaving the scene of a hit-and-run accident while driving drunk on January 11. It allegedly happened just after 11 p.m. at the Valley Bowling Alley. After responding to the bowling alley, Waverly Police located Smith at the nearby Dandy Mini Market just before midnight.

The 22-year-old was charged with misdemeanors of DWI and obstruction of governmental administration for refusing to take a breath test.

Waverly PD says Smith became combative during her arrest, yelling homophobic, racial, and anti-Semitic slurs and threatening to kill officers several times.

She was additionally charged with making terroristic threats, a felony. Smith is due in Waverly Village Court on January 23 at 1:30 p.m.
