ENFIELD, NY (607NewsNow) — The town of Enfield is preparing for a new second-in-command.

Town Supervisor Stephanie Redmond tells 607 News Now the town board votes next week on a replacement deputy supervisor.

Redmond says it’s a good choice.

After that announcement was made Feb. 27 on 607 This Morning, Enfield Town Board member Robert Lynch reached out to 607 News Now, saying he was ‘blindsided’ by the decision.

“Mind you, state law grants the Supervisor sole discretion in selecting a Deputy Supervisor.  But as recently as our Town Board’s special meeting this past Wednesday, Supervisor Redmond had not announced her decision on the appointment,” Lynch wrote.

“As of this writing, no internal email announcing the decision has been circulated to the Town Board.  No public announcement has been made on the Enfield Town website.  Yes, this morning, listening to the interview, I felt blindsided,” Lynch added.

The Enfield Town Board meets on Wednesday, March 11.
