Former Cortlandville Town Board member Ted Testa passes away at 84

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – The Cortland community mourns the loss of a longtime public servant and life resident.

On January 28, Theodore “Ted” Testa passed away.

Born and raised in Cortland, Testa and his wife, Judith, owned a local beauty shop for many years before retiring. Testa also served on the Cortlandville Town Board for 34 years and was instrumental in the development of both Gutchess Park and a 16-acre town park, which was named Ted Testa Park in August 2012 in his honor.

Calling hours will be held on February 5, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland. Any contributions can be made to St. Margaret’s Church in Homer.

Testa was 84.
