Former Giants coach joins Detroit Lions

NEW YORK (607NewsNow) — A former coach for the New York Giants is heading to the Midwest.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports Mike Kafka is joining the Detroit Lions. Kafka will be part of Detroit’s offensive staff.

Kafka served as New York’s interim head coach for seven games in the 2025 season. He compiled a record of 2-5.

Earlier this month, the Giants hired John Harbaugh as their new head coach.
