ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Auburn native and Ithaca College alum Tim Locastro has retired from professional baseball.

The former Bomber standout is reportedly stepping into a coaching role with the San Diego Padres.

Locastro, who spent the last two seasons with the Padres’ AAA affiliate in El Paso, will serve as a baserunning and outfield coordinator, presumably in the lower levels of the Padres organization.

Locastro broke into the majors with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017 and spent parts of seven seasons in Major League Baseball with the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Yankees, and Mets.
