DANBY, NY (607NewsNow) — The Citizen Preparedness Corps is planning a free training on Tuesday, March 24th at the Danby Community Church.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., the training will provide the tools and resources needed to prepare for any type of disaster or emergency, how to respond, and how to recover.

The Citizen Preparedness Corps training program is led by the New York National Guard working with experts from the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) and is coordinated with local county emergency management personnel.

“This course provides an excellent introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster,” stated Geoff Dunn, Community Preparedness Coordinator for Tompkins County Emergency Response. “It’s a great opportunity to learn how to properly develop family emergency plans and stock up on supplies.”

Registration is required for the event, sign up here.
