Genoa wreck sends one to hospital

GENOA, NY (607NewsNow) – One person is recovering after an accident in Cayuga County.

Just after 8 a.m. on December 30, multiple agencies responded to the 1500 block of State Route 34 in Genoa for a report of a motor vehicle that went off the road. Evidence at the scene showed the SUV struck a ditch and rolled before coming to rest in a cornfield. The vehicle suffered a large amount of damage.

The driver of the SUV was transported to Auburn Community Hospital for treatment, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. State Police are investigating the crash.

The Genoa Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by the King Ferry Fire Department and Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, Inc.
