TRUMANSBURG, NY (607NewsNow) – The Trumansburg community is rallying support around a student athlete.

On July 21, 16-year-old Lucas Vann suffered a serious injury in a weight-lifting accident.

Vann was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. His surgery was successful, and he was recently released from the hospital, but returned earlier this week due to bleeding. Vann’s follow-up with his ENT surgeon went well, but he has a long road of recovery ahead.

A GoFundMe has been set up to raise money to help his family with expenses associated with his care. You can donate here.
