ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Cornell is preparing for commencement.

Today marks the first day of a full slate of events to celebrate the class of 2026, with Senior Convocation at Barton Hall.

Emmy-award-winning alumna Jane Lynch will be the keynote speaker. On May 22, numerous college and department events are scheduled throughout the day and evening, and officials anticipate a significant increase in traffic volume as thousands of friends and family members descend upon Ithaca.

On May 23, two undergraduate commencement ceremonies will be held at Schoellkopf Field. A change in traffic patterns, road closures, and parking restrictions will take effect. More college and department events are anticipated on May 24.

The University encourages the public to plan their commute with these events in mind and to avoid driving on campus, if possible.
