ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Three former Big Red athletes are leaving Italy with medals.

On February 19, the United States Women’s Hockey Team scored an equalizer late in the third period of the gold medal game, sending Team USA to Overtime, where it ultimately defeated Canada 2 to 1.

Class of ’25 graduate Rory Guilday, the first Cornell alum to represent the U.S. in the Olympics, takes home gold. As members of Team Canada, the class of 2020’s Kristin O’Neil and the class of 2015’s Brianne Jenner won silver medals.

Additionally, the class of 2013’s Laura Fortino played for Team Italy this year after representing Team Canada in two previous Olympics.
