Homicide investigation underway in Homer

HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – A homicide investigation is underway in Homer.

On October 8, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and Homer Police Department responded to a shooting just before 3:30 a.m. at a residence near Grove Street and Route 281, where they found a man in the driveway.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures until EMS crews arrived. The victim was then transferred to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, where he later died.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office believes the incident to be isolated at this time and is asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact them.
