IC searches for new men’s basketball coach

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The leader of the Ithaca College men’s basketball team is leaving.

Head Coach Waleed Farid is saying farewell to South Hill. He’s becoming the men’s basketball head coach at NYU.

Farid began his tenure at Ithaca College in 2021. He led the Bombers to a Liberty League title this past season.

Farid said it’s “incredibly bittersweet” to step away from the college. He added Ithaca will “always hold a special place” in his heart.
