IC Veterans Day Celebration set for November 6

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Ithaca College is preparing for its annual Veterans Day Celebration.

On November 6, the one-hour program saluting the 250th anniversary of the Army, Navy, and Marines is scheduled for noon in the Whalen Center at Ford Hall.

Dean emeritus of music and army vet Art Ostrander will MC the celebration. Emeritus professor in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, Kim Dunnick, also an army vet, will serve as guest speaker. According to Ithaca College, Dunnick taught at IC from 1981 to 2018 and chaired the Department of Performance Studies for 11 years.

Navy vet Brendan Holmes will serve as the student speaker. Holmes, a current student in IC’s MBA program in Entertainment & Media Management, served from 1988 to 1992 on the USS Wisconsin, completing his enlistment as an Operations Specialist.
