IHS science teacher advances in competition, gets closer to bringing home Bill Nye assembly

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca High School (IHS) chemistry teacher Michelle Lee has been voted through to the quarterfinals in the “America’s Favorite Teacher” competition, looking to bring a Bill Nye assembly to the high school.

The competition is a fundraiser for the for The Planetary Society, co-founded by Ithaca native Carl Sagan and is the world’s largest non-profit organization for space education. Lee has her sights set on bringing Bill Nye to Ithaca for a school assembly, having met Nye when he came to Cornell in the late 90s.
