IPD: Ithaca man stole rifle, shotgun from vehicle

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Felony charges have been filed against an Ithaca man, who’s accused of stealing firearms from a parked vehicle.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers were called to the 400 block of Second St. around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. for a reported theft from a vehicle. A rifle and a shotgun were stolen, police said.

The two firearms were recovered from an apartment at Asteri Ithaca later that day. The resident, 35-year-old Jordan Berrios, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, both of which are felonies.

Berrios was arraigned at Ithaca City Court and taken to the Tompkins County Jail.
