ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Ithaca Police Department (IPD) is increasing its ranks.

On November 5, Ithaca Mayor Robert Cantelmo swore in two new officers.

According to a Facebook post, IPD Officer Kristian Zawko has begun field training, and IPD Officer Derek Payne will spend the next six months at the Syracuse Police Academy.

In related news, IPD welcomed two officers last week who recently graduated from the Syracuse Police Academy.
