ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — A winter storm is currently dumping several inches of snow, which is having an adverse effect on driving.

Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne is warning residents to stay off the roads. “Please refrain from unnecessary travel, and if possible please get parked vehicles off of streets and roadways so plow crews can do what they do best,” Osborne said.

Non-essential travel advisories are in place in Tompkins, Cortland, and Tioga counties for the duration of the winter storm.
