ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca College football team is losing a leader.
Head Coach Mike Toerper is departing the Bombers. He’s becoming the defensive coordinator for the Cornell football team.
Toerper spent four seasons as Ithaca’s head coach; he said he’s “incredibly grateful” for his time on South Hill.

Ithaca Offensive Coordinator Brandon Maguire praised Toerper for being an “incredible role model” for the players and coaches.
The Bombers ended the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 8-2. The season culminated with a Cortaca Jug victory over Cortland.
Ithaca will immediately start a national search for a new head coach.
