ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca Concert Band is preparing for a show.

The group will perform at Ithaca High School’s Kulp Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday. Conductor Rick Eleck said it’s an excellent venue for concerts.

“It works extremely well for large groups,” he said. “It’s a great facility for us to play in.”

The free performance will include pieces from The Wiz, a musical from the 1970s.

“It’ll be fun to hear some music that we haven’t heard in a while,” Eleck said.
