Ithaca pair accused of injuring investigator mull plea deals


ELMIRA, NY (CortacaToday) – Two people accused of injuring a Chemung County Sherriff’s Office investigator have appeared before a judge.

WENY-TV reports Dominick Haley and Fatiuna Massaline were both in court on Monday, August 26, 2024. An adjournment was requested and granted to consider plea offers from the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office. Haley and Massaline, of Ithaca, will return to court on September 16, 2024.

On March 29, 2024, Investigator Michael Theetge suffered a skull fracture while pursuing the pair during an alleged larceny in Big Flats. Theetge went through intensive treatment and physical therapy, spending over a month in a Rochester hospital before finally being transferred home in May.
