ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — On Wednesday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m., the Ithaca Fire Department held a grand opening for their new station in East Hill on the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Dryden Road. Construction began in January 2024.

The celebration included an uncoupling ceremony, which is the fire service equivalent of a ribbon cutting. Firefighters then pushed Engine 2 into the garage and raised the flag at the new station. The former station at 307 College Ave recently sold for $5.5 million.
