ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — New parking fees in downtown Ithaca are in place.

Nan Rohrer at the Downtown Ithaca Alliance tells 607 News Now she understands the need for the city to generate more revenue.

Nevertheless, Rohrer noted a concern for people who work downtown.

On Monday, Jan. 5, the price of metered parking in downtown Ithaca increased to $2.50/hour while parking in a city garage rose to $2.25/hour. During the 2026 budget process, city officials said in 2025 that the increases would generate approximately $100,000 in additional revenue for the city.
