Ithaca man accused of Commons assault, resisting arrest

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca man is accused of assaulting someone on the Commons and allegedly attacking officers.

35-year-old Alexander Mosher tried resisting arrest shortly before 12:15 a.m. Sunday by kicking the arresting officers, “shoving and falling to the ground to avoid detention,” police said.

“Once Mosher was secured and brought to the Ithaca Police Department for arrest processing, Mosher did purposely spit and urinate within the police department,” IPD said.

Mosher has been charged with the following:

2 Counts: Harassment 2nd Degree – NY Penal Law 240.26-1
2 Counts: Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd – NY Penal Law 195.05
Resisting Arrest – NY Penal Law 205.30
2 Counts: Criminal Tampering 3rd – NY Penal Law 145.14
Aggravated harassment of an employee by an incarcerated individual – NY Penal Law 240.32

He’s currently being held in the Tompkins County jail without bail.
