Ithaca Police Department mourns loss of lieutenant, PBA president

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Ithaca Police Department is mourning the loss of an officer.

Thomas Condzella passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, March 10.

Condzella joined the department in 2015 as a patrol officer and was later promoted to sergeant and lieutenant. During his time at IPD, he was a member of the specialized response team, the crash reconstruction team, and the recruitment team. Condzella also served as president of the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association, where he helped secure a new contract for IPD officers for the first time in 10 years.

Condzella, who was 39, leaves behind his wife Jodi, two sons, a brother and sister, and his parents on Long Island.
