Ithaca Police seek suspect in Asteri Building stabbing


ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Ithaca Police seek a suspect in a stabbing.

Officers say the male victim was found with a stab wound in the chest inside the Asteri Building on East Green Street just before six o’clock this morning.

According to an Ithaca Police Department news release, “Upon arrival Officers located a male victim who had been stabbed in the chest, with bleeding that had not yet been controlled. Ithaca Police Officer’s provided first aid to the victim of the stabbing. During a field interview with the victim, Officers learned the incident had occurred on the 8th floor of the Asteri Building. The suspect is unknown at this time and had fled the scene prior to Officers arrival.”

The victim, whose name is being withheld, is in stable condition.
