Ithaca school board certifies 2026-27 budget vote

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca City School District’s budget is officially approved.

The Board of Education certified results of Tuesday’s election. Voters passed the $177.6 million budget by a margin of 75.1%. The budget included a 3.4% tax levy increase, which is below the state tax cap.

A capital project, which includes roof repairs, also passed. The official tally is 75.4%.  

In addition, three people were elected to 3-year terms on Ithaca’s BOE:

  • Sara Garner: 2,925 votes
  • Garrick Blalock: 1,946 votes
  • Jill K. Tripp: 2,739 votes

The terms are July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029.
