ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — A different method of casting ballots might be coming to Ithaca.

Ranked-choice voting will be explored by the city’s Charter Commission. The group, which was introduced on Aug. 13 by Mayor Robert Cantelmo, will also consider changes to term lengths.

Ranked-choice voting is currently used in New York City for primary and special elections. The method allows voters to rank candidates by preference, instead of voting for one contender.
